first week

in my first week (without having a kit I get that Tues) I have learned a spa scalp cleansing and shampoo/conditioner complete with head and arms massage. Manicure and Pedicure (state board and marinello method) and tomorrow I get to do acrylic tips, a build and a wrap! its exciting but I can't wait to get my kit and do stuff for realsies.

Scalp Treatment: Done with an astringent called Sea Breeze ( i got a big bottle from Sally's beauty supply for under 15 bucks) You use a cotton ball all over the scalp to help cool it and get dead skin and other things out of the head and hair for a cleaner shampooing. Doing it on scalp only, so you part the hair and treat it.  I got one done as an example for two other students who started when I did, and it was nice and soooo cooling...very refreshing. I recommend it!

Mani/ pedi are both similar in their massages and steps. Examining is real important for infection.
but I learned proper filing, what the cuticle really is( not that back skin line on the nail) and cleaning under the "free edge".

Starting October 18th

I will be starting cosmetology at the Marinello School of Beauty in my hometown in California the 18th so I figure I can blog what I learned and differences I have found online and the like.
